What type of classes do you offer?

We offer progressive training in Classical Ballet (Royal Academy of Dancing), Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, & Contemporary.

How old does my child have to be to begin classes?

We offer classes for ages 2 through adult.

How do I know what classes to take?

Depending on your interests, our staff will help decide which class(es) will most benefit your dancer.

So Macholah is a Christian dance studio. Does that mean prayer and stuff happen in class?

Each of our instructors conduct their classes differently. Some may choose to pray at the beginning of class, some may not. We have a teacher who volunteers her time for a non-mandatory, after class hours Bible study. However, class time is dance time. We are here to instruct our students in dance. Our studio and teachers desire to honor the Lord, so you can be sure our costumes and class attire are modest, our music and choreography glorify the Lord and our instructors conduct themselves in a Godly manner.

I have never taken a dance class before. I’m kind of nervous!

If you have never taken dance and are a little apprehensive it’s ok! We understand. You can take a trial class free of charge in order to make a better decision, have time in the waiting room to talk with other parents, ask us more questions, and prepare to come back next week to officially enroll. If our classes are already in session for the semester, your dancers may take a trial class under no obligation. No need to enroll or fill out any paperwork. Just come to a class and try it! You must schedule this one time try-it class with the studio before arriving.

When is the dance season?

The dance seasons are the Fall and Spring. We follow the Putnam County School calendar so that our classes coincide with each semester. We also recognize Spring and Summer breaks and major holidays.

What days and time of day do classes take place?

We operate on weekdays beginning after school and extending through the evenings.

Am I allowed to watch my dancer in class?

Parents may view classes through our waiting room windows to watch the progression of their dancer.

How much is tuition and are there any fees?

You may visit our Rates page to view the tuition and fee information. Click here.

Are there any performances or recitals?

YES! Our studio-wide, end-of-year Recital takes place in the Spring. Each dancer has the opportunity to perform. Our Company dancers perform our original ballet, The Nativity, during the Christmas season. No other dance company in the area offers this Christ-centered ballet!
