Kelsey Somerville – Jazz Instructor
Kelsey Somerville began dancing at age 13, studying tap, jazz, and ballet at Monteia’s Academy of Performing Arts and then four years of tap, jazz, and ballet at Kelle Bogg’s Dance Studio. In high school, Kelsey was also on Winfield High School’s dance team for four years and was a captain for two years. When Kelsey moved to Morgantown to study at Psychology and Social Work at West Virginia University, she began dancing at Morgantown Dance Studio and taking any classes that would fit into her schedule, including modern and lyrical. Kelsey studied Tap and Musical Theater under Liz Rossi in 2012 and begin assisting with the children’s tap and ballet classes in 2013. In 2014, Ms. Rossi begin teaching at the Artistry House in Morgantown and Kelsey increased the tap and musical theater classes she was taking with Liz. Kelsey also began studying modern with Andrea Gilreath. Kelsey was the substitute teacher for Andrea’s beginner ballet and Liz’s tap and musical theater classes for 2 years. Ms. Somerville is a Social Worker at St. Mary’s Medical Center and resides in Milton. Kelsey is excited for her first year as an Instructor at The Macholah Ballet and will be teaching Beginning Jazz and Adult Jazz.
