So Macholah is a Christian dance studio. Does that mean prayer and stuff happens in class?
Each of our instructors conduct their classes differently. Some may choose to pray at the beginning of class, some may not. We have a teacher who volunteers her time for a non-mandatory, after class hours Bible study. However, class time is dance time. We are here to instruct our students in dance. Our studio and teachers desire to honor the Lord, so you can be sure our costumes and class attire are modest, our music and choreography glorifies the Lord and our instructors conduct themselves in a Godly manner.
I have never taken a dance class before. I’m kind of nervous!
If you have never take dance and are a little apprehensive it’s ok! We understand. You can take a trial class free of charge in order to make a better decision, have time in the waiting room to talk with other parents, ask us more questions, and prepare to come back next week to officially get enrolled. If our classes are already in session for the semester, your dancers may take a trial class under no obligation. No need to enroll or fill out any paperwork. Just come to a class and try it! You must schedule this one time try-it class with the studio before arriving.
When is the dance season?
The dance seasons are the Fall and Spring. We follow the Putnam County School calendar so that our classes coincide with each semester. We also recognize Spring and Summer breaks, and major holidays.
What days and time of day do classes take place?
We operate weekdays beginning after school and extending through the evenings. Weekend rehearsals may be called for during the productions.
Am I allowed to watch my dancer in class?
Parents may view classes through our waiting room windows to watch the progression of their dancer.
How much is tuition and are there any fees?
You may visit our Rates page to view the tuition and fee information. Click here.
Are there any performances or recitals?
YES! Our studio wide, end-of-year Recital takes place in the Spring. Each dancer has the opportunity to perform. Our Company dancers perform our original ballet, The Nativity, during the Christmas season. No other dance company in the area offers this Christ-centered ballet! See more here.
What’s next? How do I register for class?
It’s not too late! Open House and Open Enrollment takes place in August. To enroll, come to Open House!
An application for enrollment will be filled out, you will receive much more information about our school and we will answer any questions you may have.
